Excess Molar Enthalpies for the Binary and Ternary Mixtures of Cyclohexane,
Tetrahydropyran, and Piperidine at 308.15 K and Atmospheric Pressure:
Experimental Measurements and Correlations
Excess molar enthalpies for the binary and ternary mixtures of cyclohexane, tetrahydropyran, and piperidine
have been measured using a Calvet microcalorimeter at 308.15 K and atmospheric pressure. All of the binary
and ternary systems show endothermic behavior. The experimental binary results are correlated using the
Redlich-Kister equation. The excess molar enthalpies for the ternary mixture are correlated using the Cibulka
equation. The capability of an artificial neural network algorithm to model these data is finally studied.

Interpolymer complexation and thermal behaviour of poly(styrene-co-maleic
acid)/poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) mixtures
Polymer complexation between poly(styrene-co-maleic acid), (SMA28) and (SMA50) containing 28 and
50 mol% of maleic acid and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP), has been investigated by differential scanning
calorimeter (DSC), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).
All results showed that the ideal complex composition of SMA28/PVP and SMA50/PVP leads, respectively,
to 2:1 and 1:1 mole ratio of interacting components.
For the investigated systems, theTgversus composition curve does not follow any of the usual proposed...

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) abundance
correlates with p53 and Bcl-2 accumulation and patient age
in a small cohort of North African nasopharyngeal carcinoma
In North Africa, nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is characterized by a bimodal distribution involving a juvenile (≤30 years old) and an elder population (>30 years old). The Epstein Barr virus oncogene LMP1,
the anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 protein and the tumor suppressor p53 have recently emerged as biomarkers of the disease. EGFR/ErbB1 expression is detected in the majority of NPC tumors with advanced disease. To obtain greater
insight into the potential oncogenic mechanisms specific to these two NPC populations, we examined the correlation between EGFR expression and patient age...
